Commercial Receivers Association (CRA) Adds New State Directors from East to West with the Appointments of Washington D.C.’s Mark Owens and Washington State’s Eric Camm

The Commercial Receivers Association (CRA), a national membership organization focused on empowering the education and standardization of Commercial Receivership Administration, is adding new State Directors from East to West with the appointments of Mark Owens and Eric Camm. Mark Owens, Partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Washington D.C , and Eric Camm, Partner & Director of Capital Advisory of Turning Point Strategic Advisors in Washington, are proud to serve the CRA from their respective coasts.

As chair of Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Finance, Insolvency & Restructuring department, Mr. Owens’ practice includes business, commercial, finance, litigation, bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights matters valued from millions to billions of dollars. Regarded as a professional who is responsive, grounded and calm under pressure, the CRA welcomes the strong skill sets he brings to the State Director leadership team. Mark stated: “I am excited to be part of the CRA and look forward to being actively involved.”

Hailing from the West Coast, Mr. Camm is the Director of Capital Advisory and partner for Turning Point Strategic Advisors, a business and CFO advisory firm based in Seattle. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional, who comes to his engagements utilizing his background as a corporate attorney. He has led numerous M&A Transactions, Restructure Engagements, and Receiverships, and heads Turning Point’s turnaround and restructure group. His clients know him for bringing creativity and diligence to every project. It is these attributes that made him an ideal candidate for the CRA’s Washington State Director role. “I’m honored to take on a larger role with the CRA and look forward to working alongside fellow members to further the organization’s mission. Serving as State Director presents the opportunity to advance our practice, promote excellence, and foster collaboration among industry professionals. This is something I’m excited about.”

“CRA draws its strength from the caliber and quality of its state leaders and its members. Mark and Eric demonstrate in spades the quality of the professionals helping lead this organization. We are truly gratified to be able to count them as part of our leadership team,” said CRA Board President, Eric Peterson.

The CRA continues to exceed growth expectations. In addition to expanding membership, the CRA continues to produce well-attended webinars and offer value-producing initiatives, including several new state launches. The annual conference will be held in Florida from August 18-21, 2024, www.commercialreceiver.org/annual-conference/.
